2Amath… Discover how small family business can become, in a few years, a true success story, now operating on four continents. Sarah Acelor, who created the private tutoring firm specialised in maths and physics, shared some of her secrets with us.

Can you sum up 2Amath, in a few words?
I created the company in 1989, starting by giving private lessons in maths and physics to people we knew in our hometown in Reims. After a few months, we managed to find 100 pupils, and started hiring teachers to help us. We then created exclusive tools and a personalised methodology, and we exported our concept abroad.

In what countries are you located?
We have centres in France, French overseas territories, Canada and Morocco. We recently signed an agreement with Berlitz to boost our presence in France to start with, and then abroad. We would like to open 10 new towns over the next few months, to reach 30 franchisees by the end of the year.

What is your idea of the ideal franchisee?
We want people with a real sense of relationship, a quality that is essential in this profession, where you have continual close contact with children and their parents. Our franchisees are 30 years old on average, which is a proof of our dynamism.
