Cash Converters Press Release
| Cash Converters Franchise Background < International > January 11th, 2006 Cash Converters was the brain child of Brian Cummins. Brian had been operating a pawn broking and second hand store in Australia for a number of years. He saw there was a huge potential market in the resale of second hand goods. He knew that this was largely due to the undesirable way that pawnbrokers conduct their business. Instead what Brian envisioned was a group of stores where people could get top class service in a normal retail environment while purchasing second hand merchandise.
Brian convinced a number of people to help him see his vision come to life. So over one weekend, six Cash Converters Stores opened, looking the same, feeling the same. In that weekend the phenomenon that is Cash converters was born. That was over 15 years ago. Today Cash Converters is an International Franchise. The company is listed on both the London and Australian stock exchanges and there are over 500 stores located in 28 countries worldwide from Australia, new Zealand, Asia, Europe, South Africa, Canada and now America. |
