McDonald's To Introduce Bigger Big Mac in Europe
< Western Europe >

May 2nd, 2006

Despite health complaints that have cut into McDonald's Corp's European sales, the company is preparing to roll out the Bigger Big Mac in the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and perhaps other countries.

The sandwich, which contains two patties larger than those in a standard Big Mac, is aimed at soccer fans during the World Cup season this summer as a limited-time offer. The sandwich is expected to be about 40 percent bigger than its already large 8-ounce predecessor.

McDonald's points out that it offers healthier alternatives, including deli sandwiches and salads, for those who don't want high-calorie, high-fat products such as the Bigger Big Mac.
