| The building industry in Great Britain < United Kingdom > February 8th, 2006 2005 figures have not been published yet for this country, but market analysis shows that the British building industry is doing well (3% in 2003 and 3.4% in 2004). That being said, trends vary sector by sector. The new constructions industry grew at a record-breaking rate in 2004 (14.2%) and public non-residential has reached 9.8% thanks to numerous PFI (Private Finance Initiative) projects, while the civil engineering industry decreased by 8.3%, due to a lack of new projects.
