American Leak Detection is the recognized world leader in the detection of hidden leaks and line location for water and sewer systems.

Richard "Dick" Rennick founded American Leak Detection in 1974 in Hemet, California. Dick and his wife and partner, Lorrie, moved to the Palm Springs area in 1982 where they focused on swimming pool, spa and slab leaks in the Southern California area. American Leak Detection has since expanded into cold weather climates and international locations as additional technology has been developed. By the end of 2002, there were 145 offices operating in 38 states and 10 countries.

Since 1974, research and development has produced a wealth of tools to solve the majority of all leak problems in residential, commercial, industrial and municipal settings. American Leak Detection Team Members receive extensive training in all aspects of the business during the 6-10 week training course, which consists of hands-on technical training, marketing and business operations.

Training is the cornerstone of American Leak Detection, Inc. Our mission is to assist in the development of business and technical skills of Team Members and their employees. Training Division programs include New Franchise Owner Training, New Franchise Owner/Re-Sale Training, Regional Training, On-Site Training in Team Member Territory, Team Member Employee Technical Training, and Partner Training.
In addition to the technical components of training, a number of business courses are offered. The Training Division within the corporate office serves to centralize training and to coordinate facilities, visits and other developmental programs for all Team Members.

Communication is a critical component of all services. To this end, elected Team Members serve on an advisory council to the corporate office providing a representative voice for all. The group serves as a conduit for information as well as tackles issues such as system-wide standards, compliance, human resources and national branding.
