1935: A group of independent tire retailers in Nebraska invents an improved tire-repair machine, forming the nucleus of O.K. Rubber Welders. The group forges three powerful concepts that eventually become the cornerstone of Big O's philosophy--the product warranty, outdoor merchandising, and the power of exchanging ideas.

World War II: O.K. Rubber Welders boasts 600 dealers nationwide, building on their reputation for honesty, quality, service, and economy.

1953: O.K. Rubber Welders grows to become the largest tread rubber account in the nation, with 1,300+ dealers in the U.S., Canada, South America, Honduras, and Mexico.

1962: A group of independent thinkers splits from the original O.K. group to form a new company, Big O Tires.

1972: Company name becomes a blueprint for success: Better Image Greater Opportunity

1986: Big O goes public, trades on NASDAQ under the symbol 'BIGO'

1996: Big O is acquired by TBC, the nation's leading marketer/distributor of private brand tires.

2000: Big O encompasses over 500 dealer and company-owned stores in 20 Midwestern states and parts of Canada.

Comprehensive Training And Support

Big O Tires has a comprehensive, ever evolving training program that addresses every aspect of sales, management and service. A fully operational retail training store serves as a “hands-on” laboratory where store owners, mangers and salespeople can take the skills they are taught in the classroom and implement them directly in a n actual store setting with real customers. Big O also provides ongoing store support with Area Business Mangers that assist with advertising, merchandise, sales promotions, new product introductions, and much more. With a Big O Tires franchise, you will remain independent, but never alone.
