Chemex was established in 1985 to serve the £2.5 billion cleaning and hygiene market in a unique way via a network of franchised owner operators sharing a common goal to provide high quality products at excellent value for money with a standard of service unmatched in the industry.
Now 20 years later it has grown from humble beginnings as the 'One Stop Chemical Shop' in a single unit to bigger premises in Tamworth in Staffordshire as the better known 'Chemical Express' and more recently as a hundred strong UK network in the guise of Chemex International based in the heart of the Midlands in a custom built four and a half acre site.


All Chemex products are specially formulated to concentrated commercial strength and are available in a range of pack sizes and applications appropriate to your needs. Our ongoing programme of research and development continues to extend our product portfolio, which is already proven to be amongst the most technically advanced available today.


Our training of new franchisees starts with a residential 8 day induction course in our training suite at our offices in Smethwick in the West Midlands. We have only 2 or 3 new franchisees on our training courses, as we want to ensure you get the best possible personal attention from our team of business development managers.
When you leave the induction course, the period of on-the-job training starts. Chemex provides 12 days initial training, one-to-one, in the field. Your Business Development Manager will teach you product knowledge, including what to use where, account opening techniques, prospecting tips, planning strategy to help you get the best out of your day, how to plan your area …… in fact, all aspects of running your franchise.
The high quality support offered by Chemex continues throughout your business career as a franchisee. Whether it is advice on how to develop your business into a multi-van operation or advice on what product to use on a particular application that is needed, the support will always be there from Chemex.
Business Administration
Our franchise package provides everything you need to start out in your business life. We include all your personalised stationery, a complete pack of accessories (even a box of paper-clips!), comprehensive operations manual, a documented training schedule and the first month’s van rental payment. Our van showrooms have a 240 volt power supply, to power the laptop computer and printer on board. The computer is pre-loaded with a bespoke accounts package and is also preloaded with the product range; a dedicated telephone help line is included for the time when you need assistance to solve a problem with operating the system.


The quality in Chemex starts from day 1, when we receive your enquiry for a franchise information pack. We fully realise that the decision you are looking to make is a big one, as is the intended step into the world of self-employment. We will therefore do all we can to help you in your search for the right course of action, giving you lots of information, without ever pressurising you into signing anything.
Furthermore, we do not take every potential franchisee who comes along to us; if we feel the franchise is not right for you, we will say so. We want to ensure that the decision we make is right for us both. We therefore ask you to be completely honest with us, as we with you; the working relationship on which we will be embarking is one based on trust, and this must start from day 1.
