Starting out as a single product, Cinnabon began to expand its menu with the Minibon®, a smaller version of Cinnabon's Classic Cinnamon roll, in late 1987. In 1988, Cinnabon's first proprietary beverage, the Mochalatta Chill® was created and, to this day, remains one of the most craved products on the menu. Following the successful introduction of these products, Cinnabon continued to expand its bakery menu and offerings, including the Pecanbon™ (1997), and, the award winning Cinnabonstix® product (2001).
What began as a simple cinnamon roll sold only at Sea Tac Mall has evolved into a global phenomenon. Whether you live in Tokyo, Japan, Caracas, Venezuela or Australia, the aroma, quality and freshness of a Cinnabon® baked product never changes. The first franchised bakery opened in August 1986 in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at King of Prussia Mall. On the coattails of that opening, the brand expanded internationally, to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in April of 1987. As of March 26, 2004, Cinnabon's franchisees own and operate nearly 90% of all Cinnabon bakeries around the country. Our franchisees are our lifeblood for growth and expansion into the future.
Cinnabon opened its first non-mall bakery in 1991 when it opened in Detroit's Wayne County Airport. The expansion and diversification has continued with the entry onto military bases (Elmendorf Air Force Base - September 1999), theme parks (Universal Studios Florida - June 2001), casinos (Harrah's Laughlin - August 2001) and universities (Virginia Tech University - August 2002). Today, non-traditional venues represent nearly 35% of the domestic system and have helped to make the Cinnabon brand known around the world!

Cinnabon® is the world-wide leader in the cinnamon roll bakery category. Founded in Seattle, Washington in 1985, Cinnabon opened its first bakery on December 4, 1985 at Sea Tac Mall. At the time, only our Cinnabon Classic cinnamon rolls were served. The brand has grown dramatically since then. As of December 28, 2003, the company operated and franchised 626 bakeries worldwide. These bakeries are located in 43 states, Puerto Rico and 26 other countries, leading to over exceptional brand awareness around the world. Cinnabon® bakeries are traditionally located in high-traffic venues such as shopping malls, airports, universities, casinos, amusement parks, military bases, train stations and travel plazas.
Cinnabon bakeries have built a reputation for serving fresh, aromatic cinnamon rolls made with premium Indonesian cinnamon and topped with sweet, a rich, cream cheese-based frosting. Each Cinnabon product is served hot out of the oven and baked fresh before our guest's eyes. Cinnabon's commitment to premium ingredients and quality has paid off. Cinnabon bakeries have been named the #1 restaurant chain in the USA by an ePinions® online poll. Additionally, Cinnabon was named one of the top 50 pleasures in life by Expansion Magazine, the most influential business magazine in all of Mexico.
