Hot Stuff Foods, formerly Orion Food Systems, Inc. was founded in 1984 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA, with the goal of offering high-quality food products to the "time-conscious" consumer. The initial brand introduced by this innovative company was Pizza Patrol, a successful regional pizza delivery franchise that opened its first location in October 1984.
Shortly after, Hot Stuff Pizza brand was introduced into the convenience store channel filling a consumer need for high-quality branded food in the C-store environment. Hot Stuff Pizza is one of the largest fast-food brands within the convenience store industry, now operating in more than 1,000 locations.
Today, Hot Stuff Foods is one of the USA's leading franchisors of high-quality, multi-branded fast-food systems for the convenience store industry. Offering eight brands, Hot Stuff Foods leads the marketplace in innovative concept development and product introductions aimed at satisfying consumers' needs across all day parts.

Operational Support
Hot Stuff Foods has developed technology to vastly improve operations. Our new "iQuest" (an acronym for Quality, Uniqueness, Execution, Sustainability & teamwork) handheld technology easily walks operators through a pie chart of components necessary for successful food solutions. It is designed to allow our franchisees the ability to monitor everything from effective marketing and service to well-managed inventory and cleanliness.
Operators receive closely monitored service visits from Hot Stuff team members (QUEST Business Advisors (QBA's)) including a 21-day service and support call for most Hot Stuff Pizza® locations. During the visit, the retailer and the QBA inspect the premises and review the total business execution. The operation's information is entered into the system and is compared to benchmark data based on a typical successful operation. Each slice of the pie will register a color based on the benchmark data. Green means the operation is hitting on all cylinders, yellow notes caution and indicates specific improvements to be addressed and red clearly reflects an unacceptable situation in the category noted. The information consists of the components arranged in pie chart form. With one quick glance, you can get a very specific indication of how your food operation is performing.
The program has been effective because of the new technology employed and the fact that we guarantee our QBA's will be working side-by-side with our franchisees to implement and support the system. This exclusive technology, designed to assist franchisees manage their businses and bottom line, takes our commitment of "Creating Value... Every Day!" to a whole new level of total food solutions.
Training
To assure flawless operation of a food outlet, management teams are required to complete our extensive Operations and Management Training Program. Actual in-unit training is combined with concentrated course work to thoroughly familiarize managers with all aspects of operation and management of the restaurant.
The initial training course is continually reinforced through ongoing seminars and educational programs. Hot Stuff Foods brings this operational support to you, at your outlet location. We will teach your staff how to run your business and how to grow by meeting the needs of your customers. An operational QUEST Business Advisor (QB) will be assigned to provide ongoing training and support to your operation.
