Austin's upscale InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel has a new leader < United States > March 18th, 2006 Robert Hill just joined the hotel as general manager, replacing Steven Parker. Hill has been with InterContinental Hotels for 14 years.
The Stephen F. Austin, at 701 Congress Ave. in downtown Austin, recently was purchased from seller InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (NYSE: IHG) by Newton, Mass.-based Hospitality Properties Trust (NYSE: HPT) for $30 million as part of a $425 million, 13-hotel deal. Hospitality Properties Trust already owns four other hotels in Austin. As part of that deal, Hospitality Properties agreed to earmark $25 million for capital improvements at the hotels over the next two years. The Stephen F. Austin reopened in 2000 after an extensive multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel has 189 guest rooms and 6,000 square feet of meeting space. http://austin.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2 ... |
