Burger King Raises RM7,000 For Mercy Malaysia < Malaysia > June 4th, 2006 Fastfood chain Burger King has raised RM7,000 in 20 days for the Malaysia Medical Relief Society (Mercy Malaysia) relief fund.
It raised the money through donations dropped into boxes at its 21 outlets throughout the country beginning June 1, said Cosmo Restaurants Sdn Bhd Corporate Communications Manager Liza Arifin. The company is a franchisee of Burger King Corporation. The company's Director of Operations, Khaled Hammam, handed over the donation to Mercy Malaysia President Datuk Dr Jemilah Mahmood at Burger King Suria KLCC, here Tuesday. Since its inception in 1999, Mercy Malaysia has sent relief missions to Kosovo, Cambodia, Indonesia, Turkey, India, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Iran, Sudan, and Pakistan. |
