Cohoes Mayor John T. McDonald III said the city would do whatever it can to help the Golden Krust Bakery recover from a fire that destroyed the third-generation, family-owned business Tuesday night.

"We will work with the Jaroszes using the IDA or any other economic development tool to help them get back up and running, but I think it's going to be up to numbers and will," McDonald said a day after sadly watching the fire destroy the bakery, an institution in the city near Albany, N.Y.

The Golden Krust has been owned by the Jarosz family for about 60 years.
