The CEO of Empire Racing Associates LLC said the high number of potential bidders on the racing franchise now held by the New York Racing Association could mean good things for his group. Jeff Perlee said that the aim of his group has been to sell itself as "emphatically New York." With out-of-state groups like Magna Entertainment and Churchill Downs among the 16 saying they will bid, Perlee said that will make Empire Racing Associates more unique.
