Escort Group of Companies has appointed the InterContinental Hotels Group to manage an upcoming InterContinental Hotel & Resorts property in Islamabad. The hotel is set to have over 260 rooms and the building over nine-storeys high. Scheduled to open by the end of 2007, the hotel also boasts the largest hotel ballroom in Pakistan. Other features include a landscaped lawn for outdoor functions, three restaurants as well as spa and gym facilities.

Bashir Ahmad, chairman and managing director of Escort Group of Companies stated “The InterContinental Islamabad will be well placed to benefit from the potential growth in business and leisure travel into Islamabad.”

The new hotel will mark the re-entry of the luxury InterContinental brand to Pakistan, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Himalayan hills.
