Marco's Pizza to Deliver Taste of Italy with Its Pizzas and New Unique, Six Color Boxes

March 9, 2006--Marco's Pizza will begin delivering a taste of Italy with its "Ah! thentic Italian Pizza" to customers with a new state of the art pizza box, which features six color, beautifully replicated scenes of Italy.


The pizza box technology, which is new to U.S. pizza companies, will promote the 28-year-old Marco's Pizza brand positioning of "Ah! thentic Italian Pizza", founded by Italian native Pasquale "Pat" Giammarco here. Giammarco, who built the company using many of his family's recipes, remains with the company in concept development and as a store owner.

"We have earned some of the highest customer loyalty ratings in the industry," explained Jack Butorac, president of Marco's Franchising, LLC, "and this striking pizza box will only enhance the Marco's Pizza experience with consumers. We can deliver a pizza in a package that is truly unique."

The new box, which is being produced by ProPak Industries of Toledo, features four distinctive scenes from several regions throughout Italy's country side. The graphics were designed by the Marco's Corporate Office Graphics Department.

Marco's, with 149 stores in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada and Arizona, established a new company record by opening 22 stores in 2005 as part of an aggressive plan to open 500 stores by 2010.

According to Butorac, Marco's has introduced the new packaging in Ohio, and has a progressive rollout throughout the country. The package will be supported with a television and print advertising campaign.
