PPR SA's (12148.FR) furniture retail chain Conforama said Monday it has rebranded three of its Emmezeta stores in Italy under the Conforama name and will open a new store in Naples.
The rebranding effort and new store opening brings the total number of Conforama brand stores to eight in Italy.
PPR last month said it planned to accelerate the conversion of Emmezeta stores, a chain the company bought in 2000, to the Conforama name as part of the group's efforts to turn around the chain in Italy, where sales for the third quarter this year fell 18% to EUR107 million. The company aims to finish converting all Emmezeta stores to the Conforama brand by mid 2009. The company operates 14 Emmezeta stores in Italy and Croatia.
