Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Inc. is a franchiser and confectionery manufacturer. As of March 31, 2005, there were eight Company-owned and 277 franchised Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory stores operating in 39 states, Canada, Guam and the United Arab Emirates. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory derives its revenues from sales to franchisees and others of chocolates and other confectionery products manufactured by the Company; sales at Company-owned stores of chocolates and other confectionery products (including product manufactured by the Company) and the collection of initial franchise fees and royalties from franchisees. It produces approximately 300 chocolate candies and other confectionery products, using recipes developed by its master candy maker. These products include varieties of clusters, caramels, creams, mints and truffles. A Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store offers up to 100 of these candies throughout the year and up to an additional 100 during holiday seasons.
