Tesco in talks to buy Italy's retailer Esselunga < Italy, United Kingdom > October 21st, 2006 Tesco is in talks to buy the Italian retailer Esselunga, which has been put up for sale by its founder Bernardo Caprotti, according to the daily Il Sole 24 Ore. Esselunga has about 130 outlets and achieved sales of 4.4 bln eur in 2005, generating a net profit of 107 mln eur, the daily said. |
